What Kid's Need to Know About Covid-19

Today is our first day out of school after our government announced school closures in an effort to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Kids will be confused and worried about Covid-19 and what will happen next. It's important to remember that feeling worried is totally normal, especially when we don't have all the information and so many questions. Being worried isn't bad or negative, it's just a feeling.


"When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting and less scary" - Mister Rogers


I encourage kids to ask questions and tell their trusted adults how they're feeling. My hope is that adults will lead by example and provide kids with only the information they need, and in language that they'll understand.
